This piece has been in my WIP stash for a long, long time....was finally able to finish it, now that the stocking is done, and I don't even know who the designer is, that's how long it's been around.

Meanwhile....this particular blog of mine is beginning to annoy me, the way it's set up, and I can't seem tochange how it IS set up, so I will be creating another stitching blog in the very near future.

Was finally able to do a QSW piece for Petra's QSW group....been a member of that group for a couple of weeks, but because of the stocking I was stitching, I didn't have a chance to participate until this weekend.
Stitched on Silkweavers Thunderstorm fabric.

Seems like forever since I've had a finish, since I've been working on this stocking for a co-worker since last July. Here it is, at long last, finally finished....and that means $100 in my pocket for shopping for - you guessed it - MORE STASH!!!

Finally "finished" my scissors fob for my Glory scissors....stitching was done a long time ago, but just got around to putting it all together. Was a fun piece...might have to look for more of this type of thing.

My first Biscornu! This was our class project last June in Russellville, Kentucky, at Belinda Battaglini's stitcher's getaway....sure was a lot of fun! I'd had it stitched for quite a while, but I just "finished" it today with the stuffing and button. Lots of fun!

From Stitchin'Spiration, this is called Albemarle, and despite its many colors, this was all stitched with one variegated thread. What fun this one was!! I love blackwork anyway, so this was a real treat for me to stitch, and despite its size, didn't really take me all that long to do!

What fun this one was to do! This is my gingerbread wall hanging - the first of at least three! What can I say, I'm addicted to gingerbread stuff.....designer is Zweigart, and of course, it's stitched on tannenbaum fabric.

Not a difficult piece at all, and a lot of fun to do. Almost instant gratification. Since it's al l done in one color, I chose to stitch it with perle cotton rather than regular floss.

I can't remember where I found this little chart and charm, but it was a fun little project. After I finished it, I gave it to my sister in law, Kelly, for a graduation gift when she got her degree.

This project was a class I took at the National Counted Cross Stitch Show at Rockome Gardens in Arcola, Illinois. It was stitched on Damask, and was my first experience working with both the Damask and perle cotton floss. Now that I've used perle cotton, I have grown to love it and use it every opportunity that I can.

Cute little piece called "Pretty Little Pumpkins". I did most of the stitching on this one while on the train going out west last Summer. I finished the pulled stitches, the beading and the charm after I'd gotten back home.

This piece was charted from a photograph I took of Becky Hobbs some years ago. Like Freddy's, it was a very interesting piece to stitch. I guess I won't be doing any more of these, as I have lost the name and address of the person who charted this one and Freddy's, and Keith Whitley's.

Aren't these little owls the cutest? This is one of Valerie Pfeifer's charts, "Three Little Maids". Relatively a quick stitch, and fun to complete. Introduced me to what they call "squashed stitches". Interesting. Looking forward to doing more of her charts - I think I have at least a half dozen more in my stash.

This piece was a lot of fun to do, since I love backstitching so much. It's designed by Cadle Creek Crosstitch and is called "Williamsburg Virginia Christmas". I would have to say it's about 90% backstitching, and about 10% cross stitching. Toyed with the idea of framing it in red, but the green screamed at me more than the red did. All in all, a fun piece to stitch, and I'll likely be entering it in either the Wisconsin State Fair or the Waukesha C ounty Fair this year.

Another finish -- this is from Dutch Treat Designs, another tabletopper called Jack & His Cat. This one was a lot of fun to do. The original instructions and model that I saw were stitched on lavender cloth, but the chart gave color instructions if you wanted to stitch on an "oatmeal" cloth, which is obviously what I chose here. As usual, the nun stitching around the border was my LEAST favorite part of this project, but that's the only way to finish it, so...I had to bite the bullet and do it!

This piece is called "Catch The Wind", and I had originally stitched it as an entry to the National Counted Cross Stitch Show, a few years ago. While I didn't win any ribbons for this piece, it got very good scores from the three judges. I had it framed at Fast Frame, and while they gave it some interesting dimension, I wasn't completely happy with the job they did, as the right side of the mat actually covers part of my stitching, which I'm sure was the cause of a few of the point deductions in my score. And the framing job cost me $189, which I thought was totally outrageous. But, lesson learned. At any rate, this was a fun piece to stitch, and it's hanging in my spare bedroom now.

Not a very good picture of this piece, but this is a portrait of my good friend, Singer/Songwriter, Freddy Powers. I had this piece charted for cross stitch from a picture that I took of him back in the 1980's. This was my first attempt at stitching a photograph, and I think it turned out pretty well. Might try to take a better photo of it someday. There are two of these -- the other one Freddy has in Texas. This piece won a second-place ribbon for me in the Wisconsin State Fair back in 1998.

Well, the above picture is my latest finish. It's Stoney Creek's "Patchwork Pumpkin", which I found in one of Stoney Creek's magazines about a year ago. Cute, isn't it? And it was a fun piece to stitch. Now I have to find a good frame for it -- hopefully I'll be able to find one in the "stock" frames, rather than having to have it framed professionally!
